Waiting...

Waiting...  It seems that is all I do.  I wait in the garage, ready to go.  Pointed out the door.  Gas in my tank.  My chain lubed.  My tires filled.  But I wait.

Today though, I felt the key, then my heart came alive, I could feel the pressure in my veins.  I could barely contain myself, he pushed my button...  I Roared to life!

The promised adventure had arrived.  Off we went into the cool dark morning,  What a glorious feeling, freedom...  Cutting through the air, screaming at the top of my lung.

But only 45 minutes later I'm waiting again...  Have I done something wrong?  My tires aren't even warm yet,  I still have a full tank of gas...  Why must I wait?  Where is the promised adventure?

The Yellow bike.

Nice short story. At least you get 45 minutes of riding in...

Hi Yellow Bike:

Perhaps you master will purchase a companion for you to keep you company, or an LED TV to keep you occupied during the dark days of winter.

Sorta answers my question about what's up with the XCountry :-)

Thank you Richard, and thank you for also pointing out that no matter how bad one might think they have it, somebody else probably has it worse... I do like to have the pitty party once in a while. ;-)

Bob,

The Yellow bike says...

He already has companion for me, the red bike, but it's pretty old and kind of a curmudgeon as it gets even less attention than me. Heaven help us if he had a TV in the garage, we would never go any place...

The yellow bike pretty much has me pegged.

Circle,

Yep the xCountry dose a lot of waiting. If things go well it and the red bike will do less waiting. All I need to do is fill the tank on one of the car's and I'll get my two wheel motivation...

I like that style of writing and the vignetting on the photo is great too! "Screaming at the top of my lung," - I like that. :-)
