It was great fun, even thought it rained more or less non-stop for the whole event.
Sorry but I used up all the batterys on Saturday so I can't show you the really wicked trails we rode on Sunday.
Taking a break Sunday, before the tough stuff. |
Big thanks to Gateway BMW and all the guys who worked so hard to put this event on, it was a blast. Also I should thank the instructors from RawHyde Adventures, Del, Mark and Jeff, three laid back California guys who can make those big bikes dance.
See you on the road.

Enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing it. I don't know how you guys do it especially those that manage to get through on larger bikes.

What fun! I'm super jealous.
Sounds like riding through all that mud is a bit of a workout!
@RichardM: Glad you liked the video. I have much respect for the guys who will drop down that hill on a 1200GSA, whether they make it around the whole course or not, just giving it a try is big in my book. Unfortunately only 5 maybe 6 out of 40 attendees took on the challenge and two of us were on small bikes (650cc)so our times didn't count. What better time to do something like that when you have a BMW service tech there and willing to wade out into the mud pit and get you going again...

@tbolt: It is an absolute rush. I hope you get a chance to run a mud pit, just remember to keep you mouth closed... the water is really not that tasty. Yes it's a workout, but well worth it.
